What is surrounding you at present? What atmosphere are you living in?
Someone just like you once wrote: “I have heard the many reports and rumors about me, and I am surrounded by terror” Psalm 31:13 (NLT).
David is surrounded by negativity, bad news, threats to his person and his life. It terrorizes him.
Rather than remaining in that negativity, and rather than accepting the reports and the so called facts of the situation, he calls on God for a good future. He prays: “ But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, “You are my God! My future is in your hands.” Psalm 31:14-15 (NLT)
God is God. God is in charge. Not his enemies. Not the facts or reports. God is God. The Lord is David’s God.
This faith in God changes the atmosphere around David. Terror is replaced with “Songs of Victory.” And the implication is that God is singing these songs.
“For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. Interlude: The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:7-8 (NLT)
What is it like when God sings? God sings your future…..
Lord, open the ears of all who put their trust in you. Let them hear you sing.
In Psalm 32:10 David describes it as being surrounded by unfailing love. “...unfailing love surrounds those who trust the LORD.” Your future is good in God.

Made Right
God made Jesus who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (New International Version)
"This is arguably one of the most important verses in the Bible
... It tells us what God did - He sent his Son
... It tells us who Jesus is - He is sinless
....It tells us what Jesus did - He was made sin
... It tells us who we are - the righteousness of God
... It tells us where we are - in Him".
by John Hosier
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The simple Gospel is that God has good intentions for you. He wants to take away from you all that separates you from Himself. He placed that stuff he calls sin on Jesus. Jesus could carry it for you and me because He had no sin of His of own. Jesus took your sin and he gave you His Righteousness. That is everything He is and has done which makes Him right with His Father…… Wow.
It is true. When a person puts their trust in Jesus they receive as their very own, the life of the only one who has ever lived totally for God. His love is poured into their lives. The Holy Spirit empowers them to live their life for God. They become God’s Child, fully part of His family. Jesus is in them, and they are in Him. They are made right with God

Let the controls go. Don’t do anything, just think.
Jet Fighter pilots in the Korean War were trained not to grab at the controls when disaster struck. Artillery exploding near the plane could flip the fighter jet over. A disoriented pilot grabbing at the controls could quickly slam the plane into the ground.
“Let the controls go. Don’t do anything, just think.” was the command that flowed through their minds. Fear causes confusion. The pilot must regather their thoughts, take a risk and leave the controls alone, and consider carefully the gauges and warning lights in the aircraft. They could not afford to be afraid. They needed a clear, unconfused mind.
I wonder: What artillery has the enemy fired at you this week? Has he turned your life upside down and disoriented you. Have you been wildly grabbing at the controls of your life seeking to get back on the right track? If you have been reacting in fear, if confusion is taking over your life, then: “Let the controls go and don’t do anything, just think.” Stop what you are doing. Regather your thoughts. Focus on God; The Heavenly Father loves you. Rest in His love. Check out your life from His perspective. Let His Word take fear from your life. This will end your confusion. His Word is more accurate then your interpretation of the situation. Trust Him and you will soon be flying through life the right way up

Here is a quote from a book by M. Basilea Schlink
------------------------------------------------------------------
You are troubled and anxious. Yet you cannot solve your problems and difficulties by yourself. Your own restless thoughts and aspirations are making you weak and incompetent. They clog the channel of your heart through which God wants His help to flow. Leave everything to God. Let all your restless thoughts, worrying and frenetic planning come to rest. Rest in God and in His sovereign rule in the knowledge that He will act. Then you will discover that ‘in quietness and in trust shall be your strength’. So choose this course and you will experience help.
