Calling Dreamers

DREAMERS, LET’S GATHER
We are in a race. It’s a race between what is and what could be. We are uniquely positioned with the richest inheritance of all time. It has been accumulating through several thousand years of humanity encountering God, and God encountering humanity. The righteous dead are watching. They fill the heavenly stands, and have been given the name, “cloud of witnesses” (Heb. 12:1). They realize that in a relay race, each runner receives a prize according to how the last runner finishes. They invested in us for this final leg of the race, and are now waiting to see what we will do with what we’ve been given.
We’ve been given the capacity to dream and, more importantly, to dream with God. His language continues to be unveiled, His heart is being imparted, and permission has been given to try to exaggerate His goodness. We have been given the right to surpass the accomplishments of previous generations using creativity through wisdom to solve the issues facing us. Their ceiling is our floor. This is our time to run.
ONLY CHILDREN ARE READY
I remember when I was a child and my parents would have guests come over to our house to visit. It was always exciting to be part of the food and the fun. But it was painful to have to go to bed while they were still there, sitting in our living room, talking and having fun. The laughter that echoed back into my room was just torture. It was impossible for me to sleep in that atmosphere. Sometimes, when I couldn’t take it any longer, I would sneak quietly into the hallway, just to listen. I didn’t want to miss anything. If my parents caught me they usually sent me back to bed. But there were a few times when they thought my curiosity was humorous enough to let me come out to be with them just a little longer. The risk was worth it!
I’m in the hallway again. And the thought of missing something that could have been the experience of my generation is pure torture. I can’t possibly sleep in this atmosphere, because if I do, I know I’ll miss the reason for which I was born

A good day
It is abnormal for a Christian not to have an appetite for the impossible. It has been written into our spiritual DNA to hunger for the impossibilities around us to bow at the name of Jesus…….. You didn't have a good day till you confronted the impossibilities of life and saw them yield and bow to the name of Jesus Bill Johnson

Healing
The message of Easter is not that Jesus was put on the cross, but that He was put on the cross for you. He was whipped for you. He died for you. And today He lives so that you can experience God’s love to the fullest.
The Bible states: But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
The Message Bible puts it this way: But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. Isaiah 53:5 (MSG)
“Through His bruises we get healed.” This is Good News. Through His suffering the Lord Jesus gained our healing. If you are sick. If you have cancer. If you are in hospital. If you have arthritis. If you have been injured or disabled. There is healing, already bought and paid for. And it was bought for you.
Bill Johnson writes: “How can God choose not to heal someone when He already purchased their healing? Was His blood enough for all sin, or just certain sins? Were the stripes He bore only for certain illnesses, or certain seasons of time? When He bore stripes in His body He made a payment for our miracle. He already decided to heal. You can't decide not to buy something after you've already bought it. There are no deficiencies on His end - neither the covenant is deficient, nor His compassion or promises. “
In Jesus name receive the healing that Jesus purchased for you. Thank you Lord Jesus!

Stormed by Cyclone (Hurricane) Yasi but not defeated.
Cyclone (Hurricane) Yasi pounded us for 24 hours. We are OK- actually we are great. The house we are renting had no damage. At first we were blasted by gusts of strong wind. As time went on this became more constant. At times it sounded like a jet engine roaring. We heard banging. Trees were ripped apart. Strange noises moved above us. One neighbors iron fence broke apart. Another had some house damage. Power lines and poles fell down. We have stayed at home and have not ventured into the community as yet. Electricity has just been restored to our home (So I can finally tell you what happened.). This is a blessing. Most people in our shire are still without power. We have contacted a number of Church friends. They are OK. Others could not be contacted - phone systems are down.
God kept us in peace throughout. We focused on Him and trusted him. A day before the storm hit we listened to a CD by Bill Johnson titled "The perfect Storm - The subduing power of peace." This gave us as a family united faith and united peace in the midst of this storm. As the storm gathered power we read the Bible and listened to Jesus Culture on a battery operated MP3 powered speaker. After this we fell asleep. Waking up briefly at times, perhaps looking outside then, listening to reports on a small battery radio.
So far there is no reports of fatalities or people being seriously injured by the Storm, which is incredible. Some communities have been devastated. In the town of Tully, one in three houses lost there roof. Other towns are totally isolated. Roads are blocked by flooding, and winds are too strong for helicopters. Communication systems are down. The city of Townsville, population 160 000+, has no power and water at present. (This city is 100km = 65 miles away from us).

Spiritual Java
Tomorrow, Friday 21 @ 7pm (Australia time) three of us from church are gathering at McDonalds for a coffee and to live out our faith and touch peoples lives. At home this week, we each read the first Chapter of Bethel Church's "Spiritual Java" book. Here Bill Johnson, wrote 3 pages on what he calls "Aggressive Faith". Our plan of action is to absorb the teaching into our spirits and then live it out in the community. There are 40 chapters in the book written by a variety of Bethel Pastors, so by the end of the year our hope/belief is that God will be able to use us more effectively to touch peoples lives with His presence. Most weeks we will meet on a Saturday. We need to begin somewhere, We need to move out of Church into the community.
Please pray that God gives us "ears to hear and eyes to see." Over the past few weeks God has been melting my hard heart. He's been making it pliable again. He has been challenging my thoughts, attitudes and words. He has been revealing the depths of His mercy and His grace. This kindness has revealed my lack of mercy, and my judgmental attitudes. "It is His kindness that leads us to repentance." not His Judgment. (Romans 2:4).

Hungering for the impossible
Here are 3 quotes I'm "devouring" at present. I was going to write "Meditating on", but it seemed too weak. Long ago I came to the conclusion that our experience in the Church is not to be merely an educational event, but an encounter with the Living God. The evidence of such a meeting is the "impossible" happens. Church must be more than Good Words, Good feelings, and Good works. If we really do gather with Jesus then the impossible must happen. I am hungry for the impossible.

Do you wish you had great faith like others?

Need a solution????
Bill Johnson said that if ever you find yourself without a solution to a situation, start reading the Bible from Psalm 1 and keep reading until God reveals the solution to you. I've tried doing this - and it works. I read the psalms out loud with an open heart and spirit towards God.
Here is a small taste:

Being Normal
"I have come to see that the normal Christian life means miracles, spiritual intervention and revelation. It means peace, joy, love, a sense of well-being and purpose - all these traits that ellude so many Christians. Written into the spiritual DNA of every believer is an appetite for the impossible that cannot be ignored or wished away. The Holy Spirit, the very Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, making it impossible for us to be content with what we can only see, hear, touch, taste and smell. Our hearts know there is much more to life than what we perceive with our senses; we are spiritually agitated by the lack of connection with the realm of the supernatural".

And they were all healed
"How many people came to Jesus for healing and left sick? None. How many came to Him for deliverance and left His Presence still under torment? None. How many life-threatening storms did Jesus bless? None. How many times did Jesus withhold a miracle because the person came to Him had too little faith? Never. He often addressed their small faith or unbelief but He always left them with a miracle as a way to greater faith. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, perfectly illustrated the will of God the Father. To think otherwise is to put the Father and the Son at odds".

If we live according to the principles of the Reformation; Christ alone. Faith alone. Scripture alone; then Bill Johnson’s words ring true. Jesus desires to heal all. Too often we have based our beliefs about healing on our experience rather then on the Word of God. Our experience is: Very few people we pray for are completely healed.
Two false conclusions are drawn based on experience:
a) God does not heal all. (or some believe “at all today”)
b) The person we are praying for does not have enough faith, or has unforgiveness or sin in their life etc and that this prevents healing.
Rather then align our “Theology” with our experience, we need to realign our experience with God’s Word. If people are not being healed, it is we, the pray-ers that need to change. Jesus healed all who came to Him whether they had faith or not, or sin in their life or not.
Mark 16:17-18 (New International Version)
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
James 5:13-15 (New Living Translation)
Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.
According to God’s Word healing is a sign that follows believers in Jesus.
Acts 28:7-9 (New International Version)
There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and for three days entertained us hospitably. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured.
Acts 5:14-16 (New Living Translation)
Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women. As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.
And they were all healed…. That is God’s will for the sick.

Is it always God's will to heal?
God is a healer. All who came to Jesus were healed.
But what about today? What about you and me. Would God heal us. Is it His will to heal some and not others. What about those who are prayed for and not healed?

You can't decide not to buy something after you've already bought it.
There are no deficiencies on God's end - neither the covenant is deficient, nor His compassion or promises. All lack is on our end of the equation. The only time someone wasn't healed in the Bible (gospels) when the disciples prayed for them was with the tormented child (Mark 9). Jesus then came a brought healing/deliverance to the child. Jesus Christ is perfect theology - He is the will of God. We can't lower the standard of scripture to our level of experience . . . or in most cases, inexperience. It's a very uncomfortable realization - not everyone can handle it. Most create doctrine that you can't find in the person of Jesus. He is the will of God.
How do we fix the problem?
1. Realize it's not God's fault.
2. Learn from others who see miracles. Have them pray for you. If you don't know people who see miracles, find them. Books will help, if the author has a miracle lifestyle. (Don't try to learn from those who only have the theory of miracles.)
3. Do what Jesus told His disciples to do when He addressed the problem - pray and fast (not just for a specific problem, but for a lifestyle anointing.)
4. Take risk - pray for people (NOT - "if it be thy will" kind of prayer. In the thousands of people I've seen healed, I've never seen anyone healed from that kind of prayer.)
5. It's hard to hurt someone's faith by praying for a miracle. Not praying for a miracle gives them no chance for increased faith. That is what hurts faith. The real goal is to show people God's love. And faith grows in the display of God's love. His love is seen when we show compassion and display God's power.
6. When God heals people, give Him thanks and praise. Learn from it so it will happen again.
7. If someone isn't healed, realize the problem isn't God, and seek Him for direction as well as personal breakthrough (greater anointing for consistency in healing). Also, don't take it personal. There are other factors involved besides great faith. That is only one element in the equation. Just learn to do your best to be faithful to His gospel, and honor Him for the results. It's also not wise to blame the person who is sick.
8. There's a difference between a miracle and healing. Miracles happen in an instant and healing happens over time. It is important to recognize the progress of what God is doing in a person's body and give thanks, because healing increases in an atmosphere of thankfulness.
