Well into his eighties, Alan was one of the happiest people I have met. He was always joyful and I never heard him say a negative word. He never criticised or judged others. For those struggling in faith, he came along side. They gained acceptance and strength from his walk with God. He had his own beliefs, was an elder in his church, but he lent support to all the churches in town. I prayed with this man once a week at an inter-church prayer meeting over two years. He was a man of few words, but one from whom I learnt much.
His secret, was a life time of worshipping Jesus.
Worshiping Jesus is the only antidote to a negative and critical spirit. The Bible States:
Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship,
for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation.
They exult in your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16
Blessings come when Christians worship together,
