My Brother David and his wife Janine pastor a Lutheran church in Christchurch New Zealand. The Earthquake (RS 7.4) buckled their home, yard and road, like ever other one in this city. They are OK and thanking Jesus that no lives were lost even though buildings collapsed. The city has damage in the $Thousands of Millions. It is a real mess and will take years to repair. Lets pray that rather then depression and hardship, the result of this earthquake is a Christian revival.
I found this song by Godfrey & Gill Birtill, on You tube. Here is a link and the words. If you are feeling down, this will pick you up.

Just One Touch From The King
There's battle raging over this land
A deep damage in the people
Yet pride stops us
Stretching out our withered hand
Yet God has stretched out to heal us
This I know, this I know,
This I know, this I know that
Just one touch from the King
Changes everything
Just one touch from the King
Changes everything
There's a great darkness over this land
A deep darkness on the people
But a light shining
That the dark can't understand
Light of the world King Jesus.
Do you know? Do you know?
Do you know? Do you know?
Just one touch from the King
Changes everything
Just one touch from the King
Changes everything
O land O land O land
Hear the Word of the Lord

The Bible was never meant to be a substitute for God.
It was provided to bring us closer to God, and
to enhance our relationship with Him. Whenever
we grab the Bible without the presence of God
we end up in legalism. That is with a powerless
condemning religion. It is the Holy Spirit that gives
life. Bob Lipsys Australia.
Consider the following introduction from an article
by Larry Christiansen:
A journalist once asked Smith Wiggelsworth, the great
Pentecostal evangelist, ”What is the key to successful
evangelism?” He expected Wiggelsworth to emphasize
healing and miracles, which were prominent in the
evangelist’s own ministry. Wiggelsworth surprised him
with this answer: “The key to successful evangelism is the
leading of the Holy Spirit in each individual encounter.”
This is the secret of a church that prevails: a prevailing
church lives not simply by principles, but by the presence
of the living Lord.
One of the great traps in living the Christian life is the
tendency to substitute principles for the presence
and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We scour Scripture
looking for principles we can apply to life situations.
In almost any story or text we can ferret out a general
principle, a formula for dealing with a life problem.
…………….The danger in this approach is that it can
foster a belief in Scripture that effectively neutralizes
the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
