Right Time, Right Place

When it comes to God’s promises, it is not a matter of hoping that they will come true. They definitely will. The unknown is time. We don’t know exactly when they will be fulfilled. The call on our life is to move forward proclaiming the Kingdom of God, knowing that the yes has already been given in Jesus. Then, at the right time, on the right day, we will then be in the right location to receive all that God wants to give us.

Brightening up your life

The street light across from our home "blew" and left our street in total darkness. It was gloomy out there in our front yard. Thinking that the power company would not quickly send out crew out to repair just one light bulb, we drove around the local streets at night noting the pole numbers of other burnt out lights. Within 2 hours we found 25. Many had not been working for some time. People were prepared to live in the darkness.

Well the lights are all back on now. What a wonderful difference it has made. Down the road a park had become the haunt of vandals and teenage trouble makers .Lighting up the area moved them on to the relief of those who lived close by. Street intersections are now safer.

We are surprised just how much.difference re-lighting the streets has made.

What are the dark areas of your life, your family? What about your job or business? Never be satisfied living in the dark. Invite the light of Jesus into your life. The darkness will flee.

Here is a good article by John Paul Jackson.

The Never-Ceasing, All-Consuming, Darkness-Dominating Light of G o d

by John Paul Jackson http://www.streamsministries.com

The presence of God is like striking a match in a windowless room. It doesn’t matter how much darkness is trapped within those walls; the second that match is lit, its light pierces the shadows and brushes them aside.

This happens each and every time, because it is physically impossible for anything else to happen. Light will always penetrate darkness the way an icicle will always melt in the middle of an active volcano. It is a rule.

It is the same way in the spiritual realm. When the light of God shows up, it literally shows up, and the darkness flees before it. It must, because that’s what darkness does when light comes. Simple. Keep that in mind when God asks you to carry His light into territory that you don’t feel comfortable in. Keep it in mind when God begins to bring witches and soothsayers across your path — the light within you is greater than the darkness within them. And keep it in mind when it comes to praying for your unsaved family members and neighbours and the random people God puts on your heart.

… A life-changing truth is this: We carry the light of God, and no matter where we are. When that light is carried into darkness, the darkness will flee, just like striking a match in a windowless room.

Fasting from Negativity

Here is a great idea I saw on Steve and Wendy Backlund’s “Ignited Hope” website. It is called a “Negativity Fast”. It will help you get your eyes off the problems of life and onto God’s promises. See the download section on their website for some free positive teaching. Why not give the negativity fast a go?

40 Day Negativity Fast
Igniting Your Faith in 40 Days

What a Negativity Fast is Not:
1. It is not denying that problems exist
2. It is not covering up things that are wrong
3. It is not critical of others who may be struggling
4. It is not irresponsible concerning things that need to be done

What a Negativity Fast Is:
1. It is determining to focus more on God's promises than on problems
2. It is learning to speak with hope about even the toughest of issues
3. It is becoming "solution focused" rather than "problem focused"
4. It is refraining from reacting and giving voice to pessimism, criticism of others, self-criticism and other forms of unbelief.
5. It is speaking about problems to the right people in the right way
6. It is replacing negative words & thoughts with positive words & thoughts based on the promises of God
